fall sports

With the arrival of fall, Tri County is bursting with excitement as we kick off a new sports season. After a brief break, we are proudly rejoining the Southern Nebraska Conference (SNC), bringing fresh energy and heightened competition to our athletics and fine arts programs. This season, our teams are geared up to tackle new challenges and seize opportunities, promising an action-packed and rewarding few months ahead. Here’s a look at what’s in store for our talented athletes and performers as we embark on this invigorating journey.

Caleb Armstrong, Athletic Director

Our rejoining of the SNC marks a thrilling new chapter for Tri County. With the addition of more schools and increased competition, we anticipate our athletes and fine arts students will rise to new heights. Events such as the conference Cross Country and Wrestling meets will be high points, alongside an expanded Junior Varsity schedule. Our involvement in the SNC, complemented by the MUDECAS conference, ensures that Tri County remains dedicated to delivering a well-rounded educational experience.

Sam Pfingston, Head Girls Golf Coach

In girls golf, we are excited about our journey of growth and improvement this season. Embracing the mantra "do better than yesterday," our focus is on incremental progress. The Junior Varsity team has been performing admirably, securing medals at competitions. Samantha Heidemann stands out as a remarkable leader, inspiring her teammates and pushing the team toward new heights.

Denise Tegtmeier, Head Cross Country Coach

The Cross Country season is off to an encouraging start. Our boys team, though young, has shown great promise through their dedication over the summer. Our goal is to see them advance to state and secure a top-10 finish. The girls team is also off to a strong beginning, having successfully competed against Class A and B teams. We aim to qualify the entire team for state and replicate last year’s top-10 finish.

Megan Kopf, Head Volleyball Coach

As we dive into the volleyball season, we’re energized by a strong group of returning starters, including two setters, our libero, an outside hitter, and a middle blocker. We’re equally excited about the new talent joining the squad, particularly our young outside hitters who bring a vibrant energy to the court. Our seniors have embraced their new roles with both skill and leadership, setting a high standard for the team. With our sights set on a state championship, we thrive on the support from our student body and community. The enthusiasm of large crowds fuels our drive, and we’re eagerly anticipating a season full of hard work, growth, and thrilling matches

Brett Scheiding, Head Football Coach

The football team is off to a stellar 3-0 start in our inaugural season back in 8-man football. Our players have shown remarkable fight and teamwork, securing victories in two closely contested games. As we continue the season, we are eager to leverage our athleticism and the depth of our upperclassmen to sustain our momentum and aim for further success.

As we embark on this vibrant fall season, we invite the community to join us in supporting our teams. Whether on the field, court, or course, Tri County’s athletes are set to demonstrate their skills, dedication, and spirit. Here’s to a fantastic season of competition and achievement!
