Jude

At Tri County, we are always delighted when Jude, our cherished therapy dog, comes to visit. Today, Jude had a wonderful time with Mrs. Garrison's 1st grade class, perfectly coinciding with their literacy block lessons about pets. The students were buzzing with excitement as they connected their learning to the heartwarming presence of Jude.

A Tail-Wagging Connection

This week’s story in Mrs. Garrison's class centered around pets, making Jude’s visit even more special. The students were eager to share their thoughts and experiences, and during writing time, they all decided to write about Jude. Their enthusiasm inspired us to create a unique book dedicated to her adventures, capturing the joy she brings to our school.

Jude’s Journey

Jude is not just any dog; she is a certified Canine Good Citizen and has undergone extensive training to ensure she provides comfort and support to our students and staff. Since becoming part of our school family, she has made countless visits, enriching the lives of everyone she meets.

In March 2023, Jude achieved her Canine Good Citizen certification, proving her excellent manners and obedience. By November, she and her handler, Mr. Clark, became a certified Therapy Dog Team through Healing Hearts Therapy Dog Inc. in Crete, Nebraska. Together, they have made it their mission to spread joy and companionship throughout our school.

The Impact of Therapy Dogs

Jude visits Tri County 2-3 times a week, and her presence is a vital part of our school culture. Research shows that interactions with therapy dogs can significantly reduce stress and anxiety, fostering a sense of calm and connection. Jude’s friendly demeanor creates a welcoming atmosphere, making our school a more inclusive and supportive place for all.

A Beloved Part of Our Community

Jude’s visits are always a highlight for our students. Whether they’re reading to her, petting her, or simply enjoying her company, the happiness she brings is undeniable.

Thank you, Jude, for being an essential part of our Tri County family. JudeJudeJudeJudeJude
