February has been a month of kindness and cultural engagement for the Tri County Spanish Club, as members dedicated their time to serving the community through meaningful projects. From crafting heartfelt Valentine's Day cards in Spanish for children at St. Jude's Hospital to preparing and serving a meal for those in need at Warren's Table in Beatrice, the club embodied the spirit of service while embracing the values of compassion and generosity.
To celebrate Valentine's Day in a unique way, students put their Spanish skills to use by creating handmade cards with messages of encouragement and love, written entirely in Spanish. These colorful creations were sent to Spanish-speaking children receiving treatment at St. Jude's Hospital, bringing some joy to the young patients.
Spanish Club members also rolled up their sleeves to serve at Warren's Table, a local initiative dedicated to providing hot meals to individuals and families. The students worked together to prepare and serve food, engaging with community members, and gaining firsthand experience in the power of giving back.
Through events like these, students not only strengthen their language skills but also build empathy and leadership-qualities that will serve them well in the future.
