Why This Bond Matters — and Why Your Vote Is Important

This bond is about investing in safe, functional, future-ready learning spaces for every student in the district. It addresses long-standing needs and supports programs that prepare students for real-world careers.

Why the bond is important:

🔹 It expands and modernizes Career and Technical Education programs so students can learn skills that match today’s workforce needs.

🔹 It improves safety by upgrading main entrances and creating more secure, controlled access points.

🔹 It supports early learning by adding preschool classrooms for growing enrollment.

🔹 It updates aging spaces like the gym, commons, auditorium, and classrooms so they can function better for students, staff, and the community.

🔹 It focuses on practical, high-impact improvements identified directly through community and staff feedback.

Why your vote matters:

🔹 This is a mail-in election, so every returned ballot has a big impact.

🔹 Community participation ensures the final decision reflects what residents believe is best for students and the district’s future.

🔹 Voting gives you a direct voice in shaping school facilities, programs, safety, and long-term planning.

Your vote helps determine the future of learning for current and future students. Every ballot truly counts.

ballot status
If you are a registered voter living in the Tri County School District, be sure to return your completed ballot for the proposed facilities project to your county clerk's office. Ballots must be received by December 9, 2025 at 5:00 PM. At this point, it is likely too late to mail the ballot and expect that it will arrive in time to be counted. Instead, the best way to ensure your vote is counted is to bring it to your county clerk's office, or drop it at your county drop box. If you have not received your ballot, contact your resident county clerk's office. Our 7th grade Quarter Class (Chapters & Courses) kicked off our STEM unit with an awesome field trip to Prehistoric Putt Putt in Lincoln!

Students will soon be working with a partner to design their own miniature golf hole, learning all about angles in action, but before we create, we had to PLAY! The trip gave everyone a chance to explore what makes a course fun, challenging, and creative.

A huge thank you to Prehistoric Putt Putt for showing us how their holes are designed and for answering all our great questions. Your insight helped spark so many ideas!

Congratulations to our top finishers—Bree R., Brody F., Landon B., and Logan K.—each earning a free 18-hole round for their next visit! 🎉

We can’t wait to bring our ideas to life and we can’t wait for our peers to play our course once we complete it!

What a fun start to our STEM adventure!

How This Bond Proposal Took Shape

This proposal was built through months of listening and community input. After the May facilities plan, the district mailed and shared a survey that drew balanced responses from all three counties. Most respondents said cost was not the deciding factor, showing room to improve the plan and better match community priorities.

Using this feedback, the Board refined the proposal to focus on what patrons and staff said mattered most. Staff also took part in two districtwide sessions to ask questions and share ideas that helped shape the final plan.

Community voices guided this proposal from start to finish.

We are proud to share that Tri County Public Schools has once again earned an EXCELLENT rating through Nebraska’s AQuESTT accountability system—the highest classification a district can receive.

🔹 What is AQuESTT?
AQuESTT (Accountability for a Quality Education System, Today and Tomorrow) is Nebraska’s statewide system that evaluates schools on academic performance and supports the whole child. It blends statewide testing data with indicators like attendance, growth, graduation, and readiness to provide a clear picture of how schools are serving students.

🔹 Academic Highlights for Tri County:
Our students continue to perform well above both the state and our peer districts in multiple subjects:
• ELA Proficiency: 69% (State: 59%, Peers: 63%)
• Math Proficiency: 77% (State: 58%, Peers: 65%)
• Science Proficiency: 88% (State: 80%, Peers: 87%)
• ACT Scores (11th Grade): 76% in ELA & Science, 68% in Math — significantly higher than state averages

Beyond academics, Tri County also maintains:
• 96% attendance (State: 93%)
• 97% four-year graduation rate (State: 88%, Peers: 94%)
• 92% college-going rate (State: 76%)

These results reflect the commitment of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the strong support of our families and community.

We are proud of this accomplishment—and proud to continue the Trojan tradition of excellence. 💙💛

FAQ Friday

Q: Are football field improvements included in this bond?

A: No. Community feedback after the first bond proposal showed lower support for football field upgrades compared to other priorities. Based on that input, the Board removed this component from the current project.

The Board does plan to address basic erosion and maintenance needs in the future using other available funds. Staff impacted by those future site improvements will have opportunities to provide input as planning moves forward.
